Merrr.

every story begins great, doesn’t it?
i guess ours did.
i’d just broken out of an abusive relationship
and my heart was begining to mend.
now, this may not sound great,
but you sure made it so.

my heart had never been broken before-
and now it lay in bits in pieces
shattered by the wall it was thrown against
and all i could do was sit there and cry.

you had always been there,
and i hoped you always would be.
you were always right, too.
and i just couldn’t stand it.
i watched gorgeous girls flock to you
and always helped you to weed out the descent ones
and wondered why it made me a bit sick.
i still don’t think i understand.

but as i lay helpless, staring at my broken pieces of a heart
you came
and picked them up.
with out me saying a word, you pieced them back together.

but you couldn’t find a glue that could hold it all together.
we tried crazy glue, hot glue, you name it.
but nothing worked.

and then you kissed me.
and no glue was needed for my shattered heart.
it lay in your hands
that perfectly fit around it.
your arms around my waist
my head beneath your chin
and everything made sense.

but, how quickly you’d run.
and a heart can’t drift far from its owner.
and mine isn’t fond of skinny blondes.
you’d make it ache, and then rejoice.
scream and then laugh.
hate and then love.

and no matter the distance, you still held it.

until you found a new heart to admire
and crashed mine onto another wall of despair.
i guess my heart was nothing compared to hers.
who didnt mind sending naked pictures.
who would call you just to moan into the phone.
who didn’t mind the fact i was crushed,
as long as cyberly she was in your pants.

and now it lay.
shattered twice as much.

time has brought most pieces together.
and friends have made an intensive glue substitute.
but some pieces are still missing.
and no man can ever hold it like you did.
