The answers you seek.

An adult has a long laundry list of things that they have to keep straight, and for each one, this list can be very different, one day I would come to understand this.  He told me that for an adult to be happy they had only one rule in life.  Much like the earlier thought process there was only one goal to strive towards, and by keeping this simple you could attain it.  He told me that you had to be comfortable enough with yourself to get a good night’s sleep.

At the end of the day all that matters is that you feel you did a good enough job at attempting to fulfill your laundry list of needs to lay down and go to sleep.  If you don’t, he told me, get up and fix what needs to be fixed, not tomorrow but right away.  I have not always been able to follow this, but I have noticed that when I do, I am happy, and content.  My laundry list is probably different than yours, so I won’t bother with the details, but know that I complete a big one, I sleep really well at night, and wake up a happy man.

I guess what I am trying to tell you is this; when your conscience is crying out for you to fix something, do it.  Don’t drown your sorrow in drugs or alcohol, go out and fix the problem.  Eat before you get hungry and you never be hungry, rest before you get tired, and you will never be weary.  Simple, age old wisdom from uneducated farmer, but it is wisdom that bears it’s own elegance.
