Do you know my dad is a true storie about a little Orphane asking soldiers as they walked by ” do you know my dad”?
When I was three years old my mother and father had died and I was being raised at the SOS in Lebanon, an orphanage. I remember that I so much longed to know things about my father and mother. All I knew about my dad that he was a very funny man, he loved to joke and have fun and that he was in the Lebanese military.
One day I think I was about four or five years old when the Lebanese military was marching by the orphanage and a bunch of us kids were lined up at the wired yellow fence watching them walk by . I remember yelling out to them as they walked by me asking them “ Do you know my dad?” none would answer or even look my direction. after about fifty or more soldiers passed the spot where I was yelling one of the soldiers looked over my direction and nodded his head as to say ” Yes” I took off running happy so happy that someone knew my dad. I went and told other kids in the orphanage what had happened. I thank God for that man. I know he really did not know my dad he just did that because he felt sorry for me.
Today I am still asking people ” Do you know my Dad?” this time I am not asking about my earthly father but I am asking do you know my heavenly Father. You see I grew up without a mom and dad but God Has kept His promise to me. He said I will never leave you as orphans . He Has been my Father.
I have made Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior and I am no longer an orphan but I have a Father that will never leave me and is always with me. He has filled my heart with His love and I am so happy I have Him to lean on. I would like to introduce you to Him if you will allow me to be your friend and share with you what Jesus Christ Has done for me. God bless you .
