I’ll lastly speak of my dabbling into graphic design. Once I found my way around Photoshop, and later on, a little of After Effects, I was off into a whole new world. Watching a commercial was a totally different experience. I could see the typography techniques employed, the ‘ramp’ and ‘fractal noise’ effect blatantly utilized, and the ‘cutout’ effect on posters and fliers. With this in mind, my eyes were introduced to a whole new dimension of vision (and I wear glasses).

Okay, using those examples above, let me tell you the real point of this post.

Whenever you learn something new, or acquire a little piece of knowledge, or even develop and grow in a skill, you can never be the same again. You have opened one door to a new world. In this world of real ‘reality’ you begin seeing things for what they really are. You begin to gain understanding of the world around you and it is definitely a great place to be. Another example would be a lecture that I listened to regarding the Literature of the Qur’an (mentioned in this past post). After listening to that, my entire view of the Qur’an was enhanced 100x over. I’d known the Qur’an was a perfect book, but seeing it explained and shown directly in such detail makes it so much more real in your head.

My posting all this is for you, the reader, and it’s my advice to you.

If you want to enter this world, which I’m just barely getting into, then begin to learn something. Take anything you’ve ever been passionate about, or anything you’ve ever been interested in, and practice it until you get better. This can be with anything in life. I know people who have practiced and played basketball all their lives. They’ve studied all the plays, the zonal defense, full court presses, the proper aerodynamic structure to make a lay up and EVERYTHING. Now, whenever we play, or whenever they watch basketball on T.V., they begin to see all the ways the players play and they can analyze and dissect the game down and see how beautiful or ugly that last shot was. They’ve entered this new world.

Now, find something that you want to do, and enter the world.
