The steps we need to take to remain healthy and safe.

“I am Here!I am Here!” Brings me to the early days of raising my sons, when Whoville was their favorite place. We are Here, was one of the shouts my boys gave each other. Well, I have to use it now. I have come back from Fluville, and have a tale to tell.

I am one of those mothers, who is allergic to antibiotics and other drugs used for the destruction of bacteria. Lucky me. So….when the flu hit me, I was a goner. Elevated temps, aches and pains in places I thought I had misplaced, years ago. My commode and I developed a really close relationship, but most of all, I reconnected with  Juice therapy. I juced everything that didn’t move. Ugh!

Since there are very few medicines that I am able to consume, when I am sick, I turn to the OLD WAYS, of feeling better. Hot showers, for the congestion. Hot Tea with lemon, for the sore throat. Vaporub, for a more restful sleep. Hot packs for the aches and pains. I think you’ve got the idea. I was sick. Oh, boy, was I sick.

My sons asked me, every day, “Ma, have you gone to see the Doc?”  No, I hadn’t seen her, what for? There is no need for me to see the Doctor, she can’t give me anything and to have her tell me that I am sick, is silly. I knew that I was sick.

The thing I wanted to point out here, is that we can get better, by using the skills of our Grandmothers. They knew what to do. Man, am I glad that I listened to my Aunt Ronnie, as I was raising my boys. She taught me everything that I needed to know, here in the 17th century, and most importantly, everything she told me really worked.

Thanks Aunt Ronnie. I don’t know what I would have done without her.  Thanks to her, I feel much better. Remember, Wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands.            Stay Well.

Cute article. Glad you’re feeling better. Loved the reference to the 17th century.
