One morning I woke up and felt out of balance. The room appeared to have a ’tilt’ to it. Now you might wonder if I had a hangover or was dreaming. Neither situation was the case. I thought “this problem will go away shortly”. I shuffled off to my car and went to work.

For the next 2 days, I ate crumbs and drank very little. A couple of aspirin each day didn’t rectify the problem. I decided on the 3rd day to make an appointment with a Chinese doctor who specializes in herbs and acupuncture. I had a previous experience with him that was amazingly successful (see my story on Immediate Relief from Feeling Weak using Herbs). He referred me to his wife who was a specialist in Rolling Tuina, a form of acupressure. 

She brought me into her examination room and pressed her hands  around my ear. I was informed that there was water in my ear. His wife asked me to remove my shirt and socks. I was instructed to lie down sideways on the padded examination table. She applied an oil to her hands and began to massage around the outside of the ear while pressing on the jaw bone and the ear itself.

About 15 minutes into the treatment, all of a sudden, I was ‘Starving’. I said “I have to get something to eat”. She replied “Wait, I’m not finished, there’s another 15 minutes left”. At that point, I relaxed and let her finish. She pressed certain spots on my hands and feet as well as the ear during the rest of the session.

I left her office completely famished and feeling a sense of relief. I felt  very fortunate to know these wonderful Chinese doctors. As soon as I made it to my vehicle, I rushed to the nearest food outlet to gobble down some nourishment.
