A bit of my history and my perspective.
I am thinking that this is my first piece, or article, or whatever one may want to call it. So, I decided to share a bit of what I am about. I am middle-aged now. Okay, so that means that I have been on the planet for a while. I have lived longer than some and not as long as others.I was born and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. I served in the United States Army for 20 years. When I enlisted in the Army, it was a very unpopular thing to do. Most of the people I knew branded me as a lover of war. I supported by Country during, what I think is still, the most unpopular war this Country has even fought. People spit at me and called me a baby killer. I never killed a baby.
I served in the Gulf War in 1990 – 1991. I did not like it. I was there because I served my country. I noticed that there were mixed feeling about that war. Some said we shed blood for oil. Others lauded our desire to free Kuwait.
I am a patriot. I love my country. I pray for this country. I have served it loyally and diligently.
I am concerned about what I see happening in the world, most particularly in my country. It is not a pretty picture. We have a new President, Barack Obama. I did not vote for him. I do not think that he is very honest. His campaign was vague. He offered “change” but would not give any details about what he wanted to change. Five days before the election, he said: “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming America!” I ask you who read this: “What does he plan to transform this country into?” I honestly do not know but it does not look good.
