“Letter to the reader”,

September, 11, 2009

I was born August, 22, 1993 and raised in a small town called Santiago, La Cejita in the Dominican Republic. Since the first days of my life I had been sick with numerous different diseases that had seemed to find their way to me. By the time I was nine months old I had somehow contracted a disease called Zarampion. Even though I was a big girl my defenses were very vulnerable against the disease. So for a few months my entire family had expected the worst, for me to die. Yet the doctors pumped me full of any medical drug they could find to fight of the disease. Even though I should be grateful for them I believe my mom should have sewed since they left my right hand scarred for life. As I grew up I was a lot closer to my mom’s family. They lived on a big farm filled with different kinds of animals. There were trees everywhere which for me might as well have been a jungle for me to explore.

When I came here to the United States I was six years old and filled with the passion for adventure. I’d make my mom take me to the park almost every day. I went to many different kinds of Zoos and animal reserves with my teachers on school trips and was quickly amazed by all the wild animals. So I had wished to work in a wild animal reserve.  That dream had stayed with me until before high school when I began to notice that if I worked in an animal reserve and the animal was sick or hurt I would have to be the one to cut it open or hurt it to save it, so it swiftly fell from my mind and I began thinking about becoming a famous writer, pediatrician, or a psychologist for kids with down syndrome like my favorite cousin Natalia.

English has always been my favorite subject for the reason that I was always extremely creative and imaginative. I love writing romance stories or mysteries, they are fun and let u create what you want to create. My past English teacher all seemed to always end up being my favorite and the class I did best in. Though I am a very good Author I hate writing letters, I never know how to star or finish it. I always seem to have problems with explaining myself to the reader. I will, in the future, try making more letter and see if I improve. English is the most important class for me and I hope I do very well this year.
