If you love someone, or need to apologies to someone; do it today for tomorrow may be too late.

Never Saw It Coming

The day started with the sun coming over the horizon, as she prepared breakfast on their hotel terrace that bright sunny morning. As her husband and son joined her for breakfast, they discussed what their plans would be for the day. Summer was just about over, perhaps a day at the beach, as a finally tribute to the summer of 2009. Yeah, that sounded great.

After breakfast they packed a beach bag and off to the beach they went setting up for one last beach day, before heading home tomorrow. What happened that day caught everyone by surprised, how could this have happened? Why? Did they miss something? Life is just not fair! He was only 40.

They were having fun, jumping over the waves, kicking the ball; swimming in the ocean laughing so hard, just having a great family day. It was then that it happened, a heart attack! The son of 9 had no idea something was wrong, but apparently it caught someone’s eye, since someone screamed to the lifeguard “THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THAT MAN”.

Immediately while one lifeguard jumped to action, the other called 911, they did all they could do, the ambulance arrived and to the hospital they went.

She never got to say good-bye, or how much she loved him; their son was confused and not quite sure what was going on, but he knew it was not good. When his mom took him to the side he saw it in her face, it was not good; she had been crying. Then she started crying again as she explained that his father had gone to heaven, it took a minute to get that sentence out and several for him to understand. He asked her, ‘mommy are you telling me that daddy is dead’. She nodded yes as she sobbed uncontrollably; he did not know what to do so he just gave her a hug, and he hung onto her for a very long time.

He was only 40, but death does not discriminate, and no matter how well you take care of yourself, when God calls you home, your time is up.

That is not to say don’t take care of yourself, good health might not keep us alive, but bad healthcare can cause sicknesses that can make living impossible, uncomfortable or painful. So if you love someone, tell him or her! If you mad at someone, forgive them and let life go one, it is a horrible feeling to have someone die before you get to them your sorry, you love them; so take the moment now and think about those you love; and let them know.

a good story that is well-written. A message one should not take for granted. I too have have a life phrase similar to this. It says “I will never pass this way again”.
