In May 2009 I was posting on a local forum where the folks know I am a minister. I made the comment I was a satanist (I avoid capitalizing that name) at one time and used to skip church. I was then asked to explain and tell more. The more I told people of how God brought me to Him, the more some seemed be enjoying it.

Angelic Observation

Before I continue, I want to let you know I am not better than anyone else and I feel God works in everyone’s life in various ways.

Even before I knew what it meant to be Roman Catholic, God was working in my life. I can remember when I was three or four, I would love to play in the backyard of our home on 5th Street in Jersey City. Above is a picture of me “planting” vegetables. Like most children, I had some silly thoughts. In my case I thought if I would pour hot water on the ground it would grow peppers!

It was this same backyard that was the place of what I now realize to be an encounter with God and his ways. What happened was I was in the kitchen looking out the window toward the backyard. I could see the extension of the back part of the house to the left, and the fence and shed on the right. As I looked, I saw two people looking back at me and smiling. I smiled back– but then, they disappeared.

I really cried over that. They seemed to be so friendly, and now they were gone–at least from my sight. But, as a child that young, I did not understand those people were most likely angels.

If you cannot recall something like this in your life, does this mean I’m better than you? Am I holier than you? Does it mean God loves you less? Does it mean you have no specific purpose in life? “No” is the answer to all of those questions. Perhaps if you take the time and deeply think, you might discover something in your life.

You can also read this series of true accounts I am about to write and perhaps you will see God has been working in your life too. I am sure He has.

You will be reading many unhappy things, but this is necessary to see the magnitude of the glory and mercy of God as He, mainly by providence, reached down to someone who hated Him and any religion that would mention His Son, Jesus Christ. So, you see that you will learn of the great and glorious blessings God has granted to my family and I.

In the next account, you will read about the foundations, some good, some bad, that were placed within me when I was very young.
