In 1972 Ronald Reagan came along.  My mother and I read the Wonderer and we were excited.  My Father listened to me about Ronald Reagan.  The man is a saint, I said.  My father and mother became Republicans and Reaganites.

Ronald Reagan did not hold tight to his movie star image.  His movie star image held tight to him.  He was Govenor of California for eight years.  The picture of President Ronald Reagan on his horse wearing a ten gallon white hat spoke volumes.

When I was twenty I took a class taught by Federal Judge Dick Powers and I remembered how much I thought of Ronald Reagan.  when my husband came into my life, at the death of my father, I was ready for a handsome, saintly, cowboy that could wear a ten gallon white hat.

Ronald Reagan was more than honest, he was present.  He was a presence that we were reaquainted with every time he appeared on television.  Passing the buck was something President Ronald Reagan did not know how to do.  After being shot, he emerged as though caught in a brush fire to be a better President than he was before.

I think that the good of Hollywood is that the stars have the work that allows them to be a presence in the lives of others if they have the soul for it.  My husband is one such star.

Robert Redford was a kind of Student Prince.  He was born in Germany and became a citizen of this country, with his parents when quite young.  Movie Acting became his interest before he graduated from College.  ‘All the President’s Men’ eclipsed a College Graduation.  This Student Prince learned what I discovered in College, Social Psychology, the meat and potatoes of diplomacy.  He also learned what John Denver said was “what one man can do”.  John is my husband’s first cousin.  This Prince of a Guy rescued me from untold pain and anguish, not once, but twice and then maybe again.

Another reason I call hime a Student Prince is because, like Ronald Reagan, Bob is a good statesman.  Being Govenor would suit him very well.  Bob is versed in every science like Thomas Jefferson of whom he is a direct descendant.

Bob conceptualizes better than any man alive because he truly is a consumate artist.  He brings me untold happiness.  I vote for Robert Redford.
