A poem about feeling suffocated and wanting to be free.

In this place I am suffocating
It is getting harder and harder to breathe with them on my back
I need a way out of this town,
This one way track

Release me now
Set me free
Let me go
Just let me be

I am becoming numb
I cannot feel a thing
I feel lifeless,
Waiting in this town, suffocating

Release me now
Set me free
Let me go
Just let me be

My soul paralyzed by fear
Stuck inside this tomb
I could die a thousand times,
Inside of this room

Release me now
Set me free
Let me go
Just let me be

I am finding a way out
Shedding myself of this mess
I am getting out, breaking free
Let me tell you how it is going to be

Release me now
Set me free
Let me go
Just let me be

Good post. I like the way you describe being stifled.

Really enjoyed it! It could easily be seen as wonderful lyrics to a song …

I could never live in a small for that very reason. I can feel your anguish int his poem Enigma.

What a beautiful piece of work! Unfortunately, I happen to be feeling this way lately. What bothers me most is a dog tied up, day and night. Barely enough leash to get to his water for drink. I like the picture you chose to add to this emotional piece. Great writting.

A very good and emotional description of the feelings of being stifled. This could almost be a song. Well done.

I feel you in the poem because I have lived it! Nice flow and I agree that this could easily be lyrics to a song. Nice poem…
