Our goal in life is not a simple statement. It must be supported by an action.

During my childhood years, one of my friend said that he wanted to become a doctor. Another friend also said that he wanted to be a priest and he will not marry. After twenty years, I was surprised to find out that my friend who wanted to become a doctor is now store manager of a fast-food chain and my other friend who wanted to become a priest is now an unemployed father with five children and two mistresses.

Our goal in life is not a simple statement of “I want to be a doctor, or I want to be the President of this country when I grow up”. Our ambitions in order to materialize must be supported by an action. It is true that we are destined for something when we grow up. If we plant an apple seed, it will grow into an apple tree, not a mango tree. Our destiny may already be written in the stars but we should not sit back and just wait for it to happen.

Always remember that our present actions are the fuel of our destiny … and the driver of your destiny is YOU.

Joshua, great points! Unfortunately, God didn’t give me a 6′7″ strong body so I could reach my dream of being a pro basketball player…me and 10 million other kids :-0
