Success story about a 15 year old kid who gets his ultralight pilot’s license in Canada, Ontario.

When I was younger I always wanted to be a pilot. I loved planes, every single aspect about them I evan knew almost everything about them at the age of 6 years old I could tell you what a wingspan was and what all the control areas are. I knew the history of airplanes, like the wirght flyer.

This dream was crushed, I realized that if I became a commercial pilot, it would take many many hours to get to that pilot level, and almost anything before a commercial pilot isn’t very well paid. My father always wanted a little private plane like a cesna or something. We didn’t really have that kind of money to spend on one though. My father thought of it as a dream. Until one year ago he bought a Zenair STOL CH701 which is considered an ultralight aircraft in Canada. This plane was very affordable compared to a cesna, which is the beauty of the ultralight aircrafts. Although my dad bought a plane, it didn’t mean he could fly it. He didn’t have his ultralights pilot license at the time. We find of someone who was instructing a course on it very shortly in our living area. Every week I would ask my dad “When are you taking the course for your pilots license? I can’t wait!” MY father knew my interest in planes and to be a pilot. A few weeks later he went up to me and said, what do you want for your birthday that is coming soon? I said “I don’t know, it really doesn’t matter dad.” and at that moment my father asked me “Would you like to take the pilots course with me?” my eyes glowed with joy and I immediately said “Yes!”.

We started the course together, everything was going well. We finished it about 3-4 months after starting it, we are now both licensed ultralight pilots and can go for a “joy fly” whenever we want, the beauty of an ultralight is the slow flight capabilities. We could just float in the air and enjoy the scenery. This is the greatest sensation in the world. Their is nothing like it.
