This was the most tragic time of my life, as well as those who trusted us.  The media focused on the demise of the investors in the hands of the biggest scam in Philippine history, the Legacy Group of Companies.  What they have forgotten is the demise of those who trusted the company so much that they offered the plan to people they meet, friends and relatives. 

Yes, the investors have their money ’still’ in the hands of the greatest scammer Celso delos Angeles but the government is doing something about it (hopefully soon) and the investors will surely get their investments back ’soon’.  But what about those who lose the trust of their friends and relatives?  Those whose relationships has been destroyed by the scam?  Those who were also innocent of the crime but still made responsible for the scam that was made by one person, Celso delos Angeles? Will they also gain back the trust and relationships that they lost? 

Although I only had 2 clients who were directly closed by myself, those 2 have invested 250,000.00 pesos each.  One of them made his investment in the bank and is now waiting for his PDIC claim but one of them invested in a non-insured investment.  I received a message from this person lately and I think ‘mad’ or ‘angry’ is an understatement.  He called me a LIAR and a FALSE-PREACHER and a THICK-FACE.  Can I blame him?  CERTAINLY NO!!  Should he blame me?  I DON’T KNOW!  Maybe he should.  Maybe he should blame me for convincing him to invest.  Maybe he should blame me for being so ignorant that we were being scammed already.  The truth is, not only were the investors scammed but also the agents who offered the product were scammed.  I wish this will soon come to an end. 

Recently, Celso delos Angeles is in Hospital arrest because of his failing health due to cancer. Although a lot of people now would want him dead but I think he would be better of alive than dead for all of us. What others may consider as ‘karma’ may not be very much relevant to all of us whom he scammed because what matters to the investors is getting their money back even if they don’t get the earnings that was promised to them.

And for us, agents of the Legacy Group of Companies, what we only wanted is ‘peace of mind’. Peace of mind to know that we can still walk in the streets without the feeling of someone getting even with us (since they cannot get even with Celso delos Angeles). Peace of mind that our kids, in the future, would still be proud of us and that the ‘legacy’ we live to them would not be that their parents has been part of the greatest scam in Philippine history. I would want to be that someone who, in his power, did something even how small it is so that something can be done.

This is the reason why I write this and hoping that very soon those who were affected, because of us who were also used by Celso delos Angeles, will soon find forgiveness in their hearts enough to give us a chance to regain what we have lost.

To the government of the Philippines, I hope you find justice for the Legacy scam investors very soon because this is the only way the we, as agents, can also find justice for ourselves.
