I have read 20 books about the Doors/Jim Morrison and I have to agree with “Ashen Lady” that towards the end, Jim Morrison was tired of drinking and was beginning to experiment with Pamela’s drug of choice, heroin. She may or may not have provided it to him that day or he may have bought it from her source, but whether she did or not, she carried the guilt for 3 years — at which time she deliberately carried out a drug overdose/suicide to “go be with Jim.” I blame no one. Their lives were meant to be short and she couldn’t face life without him.

John: suzyq is accurate in her post, just remember that $20,000 and $300,000 are * 1971 * amounts, not 2009. Trying to compare them is absurd. You have to inflate the figures to understand the true amount, including a LOT of hyperinflation in the 1970’s after Jim and Pam died. From the period of 1971-1989/90, the average consumer inflation rate has to be near 7-8 percent when you average it out. Although inflation cooled in the 90’s, it still adds to the total… which has to be near 175 percent. That makes the decorating costs about $55,000 or more, the Themis subsidies around $825,000.

“In doors circles” “It’s a well known fact” “her own friends said so in print” well here’s a good question, how the hell would they know? Just because someone is “friends” with a person doesn’t mean they know what goes on behind closed doors. Alain Ronay never said anything of the kind,and saying that “it wasn’t love,they didn’t even have sex for the last 2 years of Jim’s life” shows that you have a grave misunderstanding of love.

by the way here’s a REAL well known fact, the Doors immensely disliked Pam,so of course those in “doors circles” will blame her for Jim’s death,and say she did all sorts of things, but that is due to their personal prejudices and bias.

She may well have had an affair with the count, many affairs went on in that era and even if Jean gave her the heroine that Jim OD’d with that doesn’t mean she’s responsible for him dying, he OD’d on his own and was already self abusing long before that.

Its a well known fact in Doors circles tht Pam became a hooker after Jim died; her own friends said so in print. andthough they certainly cared for each other they gradually became enablers of each other’s addictive behavior. It wasn’t love; they didn’t even have sex for the last two years of his life. Jim’s French freind Alan Ronay has admitted that the two of them really did cover up Jim’s death circumstances, otherwise Pam would hve ended up in a french prison. And she was having an affair with her French count Jean de Bretuil, while she was supposedly living with Jim, and Jean was the one who gave her the heroin that killed Jim. He died of an overdose himself, as did Pamela.

Beva,Judgemental often,or are the dead just easy targets b/c they can’t defend themselves? The truth is Jim killed himself,a slow form of suicide by abusing his body,blaming pam is viciously unfounded.

She killed herself not out of GUILT or feeling responsible for his death, but GRIEF at having lost the Love of her life!

You stated "I do believe she was responsible for his death and thats why she killed herself. she couldnt handle It." Ignorance is no excuse for insulting the dead and most "bios" written since Jimmy's death have been speculative at best.

The only thing she couldn't handle was losing Jim and then being accused by people like you of having been responsible for it. All the drugging and drinking is what killed him and THAT is fact.

You also said "the other party was a man and I cannot think of his name, but there are last known pics of this man with Pam In paris that anyone can find off the Internet." All that proves is that Pam didn't want to be alone,not that either her or her companion were responsible for Jim's death.

further you said "Theres actual proof the day Jim died, Pam covered everything up. the drugs and asked for help." That is such an ignorant crock, and biographers have stated that it could be speculated but as for proof, there was not. You are right though that there was a span of time she took before calling the police, but not for the reason you think.

It was actually because first she called Jim's friend to help her translate what she needed to tell authorities, not to help her cover anything up, Watch the A&E biography it's the most reliable.
