This is simply my opinion of this wedding ceremony entrance.
The wedding ceremony entrance dance for Jill & Kevin’s big day has to be, in my opinion, one of the best acts of optimism, joy, & pure open hearted love I have seen in the world today. Seeing two people who love each other so much they are over joyed enough to dance down the isle is just simply refreshing. And to think, some people, certainly nay-sayers, felt it necessary to call them stupid, use foul language, & tell them to “grow up” as comments on the YouTube postings of their dance. How rude!
I say there is nothing more grown up than two adults who are overjoyed about starting their new life together, especially in uncertain times like these, outwardly showing their joy to their friends & family, & then the world, by posting it on YouTube. Why would this not seem grown up to someone? Being a “grown up” is not always about being serious. Its about being able to have a sense of humour & being able to laugh at/with yourself. A wedding is about joy & new beginnings. How this entrance was inappropriate is beyond me.
Aside from all of that, this isn’t just something that they “just did”, with out serious thought. They obviously planned this out to be included in their ceremony before undertaking the task of taking their vows. I only wish that the actual ceremony had been posted as well (or that I could find it, if it was) so that we could see how much more meaningful their exchange of vows were to them once the got all of their “sillies” out & laughed together, just before taking their vows. How much more meaningful the vows might have been to them since they know what few couples know — that a life together with laughter & joy will last longer & be stronger than one that is too serious & somber. The seriousness required for the task they completed was evident to me.
These 2 people obviously have wonderful friends & family that were in the wedding party, too. They made the whole event even more special for Jill & Kevin by participating, and being joyous with them. I am happier for them, more than I already am because of the simple fact they just got married, because in this we can see that they are surrounded & supported by a group of people who love them & are there for them. Rare people in the world today. Congratulations to them too, for being such wonderful friends.
In closing, I am going to play this video for you again. Anyone who thought that this video is dumb or childish or just plain inappropriate, please view it again & think about what I’ve written. Look at all of the faces as they dance down the isle. At all of the attendees faces that come into focus at their wedding. The joy they feel just watching it, for some, not even thinking about it at the time, that they were witnesses to the beginning of a new life — a miracle that was celebrated with splendour not somberness. Congratulations to the happy couple. Have a Joyful life together!
