As seen through the eyes of a child.

I was born in 1952. Around the time Walter Cronkite  joined CBS news.

As a child I remember sitting around the old black and white TV..Dad would adjust the antenna, so we all could hear, Walter Cronkite, loud and clear.

Walter Cronkite brought the news, when Cuba threatened the United States, his journalist experience, the news up dates. soon the crisis was over. President Kennedy was praised. Walter Cronkite reported, by President Kennedy’s quick thinking, our country was saved.

Every night, Walters voice around the world you could hear, as he covered the news, both far and near, America found his reporting, to be accurate and fare.  The most trusted journalist,  known every where..

The assassination of President Kennedy, he covered it well. From the gun shot that killed him, his wife at his side,The crowds as they gathered, their final good byes.

Martin L. King. His speech, “I have a dream.” The civil rights marches. The fighting, the screams, history recorded, by all to be seen , the fight for freedom, on all tv screens.

Vietnam war, Charles Manson, the murder of Sharon Tate. He covered it all, as the news it would make.

Walter Cronkite was truly, one of the best, when it came to truth, he past every test, America loved him, they, still love him today.  “And that’s the way it is.” The reporter would say.
