Ah...the centuries old struggle of the mind and the heart. The physical vs the emotional, and in the end, fantasy gets its dose of reality. But the beauty of that here, and in life is that no matter how mundane and disappointing reality can be when we first sense it, it can be more than rewarding when we are patient to see it through to its end. I must say that initially, my heart did its little pitter patters with anticipation and sensory overload. Like going to the top in a roller coaster and holding there for a few seconds before feeling your heart be thrust to the bottom of your feet. And when the ride was over, it was fulfilling and worth it. So goes this chapter. But this writer has not failed to captivate my body mind and soul in his creative advertures. Despite most young men or even older ones, not being as mature, self composed, and dedicated to a higher calling as Chris Alan, he is \"human\" enough to recognize his sensual side and know he cannot succumb to desires that would risk his very eternal life so to speak. He is aware and knows his priorite, what is at stake and what would be sacrificed for pleasures that are not to be in the situation he is in. That is a strong contenance. I couldn\'t help but feel Melanie\'s longing and her disappointment. But Chris Alan through his many gifts/prophecy and perseptiveness, doesn\'t trample Melanie\'s heart or spirit, but teaches by example and comforts through his words. A true gentleman. And that is what is so attractive emotionally about him. His pure genuineness and gentle spirit of light and truth. This was a wonderful chapter. You captivated my heart, mind and spirit as always. I enjoyed the dream if only for awhile. And the truth about fantasy....it\'s a wonderful vacation from the truth of life. And the truth? That is always the best road in the end. Thanks John. My Starbard friend.

Yes, and there's a heavy dose of allegory mixed in, too. "Starbard" happens to be one of my favorite coinages.

This installment took me one of my infamous all-night sessions to complete. I've just submitted three more installments, as long or longer than this, though at this writing not all of them are up. They took quite a few days to complete, mostly while I was simultaneously trying to think through unconsciously what I should do with a real-life writing task. I often do my best intellectual work this way: while working on music or creative writing while another part of my brain processes the more intellectual task.
I'm enjoying this! It's sort of a combination of fantasy, romance and sci fi. I also love your choice of words like "Starbard". How long does it take for you to write these +5 pages? I have so much to write myself but I just can't find the time.
