In 2028 A.D., an enormous meteor smashed into California’s Mojave Desert and began to emit extraterrestrial radiation that caused the death and decay of all the life around it. Immediately following the collision, scientists from around the world were sent out to research the radiation from the meteor. It was a top-secret investigation kept secret from all of the world’s anxious people and only a few leaders around the world were kept in knowledge of the studies being committed under the roofs of the facility set up underneath the crater. That is, they knew the activities of the researchers at the base for 20 years until all of a sudden the communication between the lab and the outside world ceased. The whole world panicked as the news of the underground facility leaked out to the public. The military had to be sent in to investigate. Jason Crane of an elite American military unit was dispatched as one of the few to search and learn of the happenings inside of the base known as C.O.R.E. 

Jason Crane eagerly boarded the helicopter set for California. He had been training in the military since he was 18, but with the end of World War III in the year 2023, world peace had finally come about. For 25 years there had been no conflicts between nations and Jason was almost impatient to try out his newly attained combat gear. It consisted of an entire suit and helmet made of incredibly strong and refined metal with a visor that had a computer inside for convenient communication among all the other combatants. Besides the armor, he was issued a standard assault rifle with a precise laser pointing aimer and a ray gun for closer combat. With this equipment at hand, Jason believed that he was invincible, but he was very wrong. 

The helicopter landed in the outskirts of a tiny military base located right next to the sole entrance into C.O.R.E. Jason Crane leaped out of the helicopter expecting to see thousands of parading soldiers with uniforms from around the world to be waiting to enter the laboratory. Instead he scanned the base only to find five capacious tents and a mere nine soldiers dressed similarly as he was with the full-metal body armor. They were gathered around a large hologram that portrayed the military leader of the United States of America boosting morale and giving detailed instructions of what to search for. A disappointed Jason Crane marched over to the hologram display solemnly and began to listen in.
