Post-apocalyptic setting filled with witches and bounty hunters, anyone? Ettore Alvaro works for the military, doing all sorts of mercenary stuff and assassinations. He is fighting against witches, but will something change once he meets an actual witch?

Broad daylight wasn’t my thing, but I’d do anything to find whoever shot my comrades. “Slow down, Ettore!” I turned around and shook my head. “Hurry up, will you, Gino?” “I’m not cut out for jumping from one rooftop to the next, Ettore, so shut up,” he yelled, clambering up to where I was. “You’ll never survive in the army,” I muttered, shaking my head. “Too bad; already in it,” he grinned. “Don’t worry too much, we’ll find the bastard. Besides, you can’t just run around like you do at night. You need to be more careful. That’s why you have me, remember?”

Unfortunately, he was right. Darkness can’t protect me right now, so I needed him. “Aren’t there any survivors?” “Well, there were a couple of them, now that I think about it,” said Gino. “But none of them would talk straight anymore, so there’s no use asking them anything.” I can’t believe this. What did this sniper do, exactly?

“Ettore, check it out!” I glanced down the side of the building and watched a woman carrying a child sneaking around. “I thought everyone had been evacuated already,” I muttered, jumping down, with Gino close behind me. “Exactly,” he replied. “So what does that make that woman?” The first word that came to my mind was ‘witch’, but she didn’t seem like one. She looked frantic, like someone was chasing her. But who?

“Gino, I’ll take this. You go scout around,” I told him. He gave me a pat on the back before leaving. Taking a deep breath, I turned round the corner and followed the woman. The sunlight glared in front of me, hurting my eyes. I feel like I’m turning into a vampire or something. “Excuse me, miss?” She gasped, turning around in fright. I held up my hand. “Please, I don’t mean any harm. Are you alright, miss?” “Please, stay away,” she begged. “You’re one of them, I can tell! You have the same uniform.” “Miss, please, calm down. Are you human?”
