The friends get trapped in Monica’s apartment thanks to Mr. Heckles.
One Friday night, the gang was hanging out at Monica and Rachel’s apartment. They had a few glasses of wine, and they decided to watch TV. They were getting sleepy because it was late. Just as they were about to fall asleep a knock on the door woke them up.
A collective groan came from the group as Monica got up to answer it. She opened the door to reveal Mr. Heckles in his robe and slippers.
“Mr. Heckles, we aren’t making noise. We were asleep,” Monica explained groggily.
“My snakes can’t sleep. They said they heard voices,” he stated.
Rachel yelled, “You don’t have snakes!”
“I could have snakes.”
Ross turned around and pointed out, “Snakes don’t have ears.”
“They could have ears,” Mr. Heckles shot back.
Monica slammed the door in his face and returned to the couch.
“How did he know they heard voices?” Rachel asked. “Snakes can’t talk.”
“Yeah, they can,” Joey stated matter-of-factly. “The one on The Jungle Book talked.”
“That’s a cartoon, man,” Chandler said as he covered his face with his hands.
Joey looked confused for a minute then smiled and nodded. “Oh, yeah. What’s with that Mogli kid wearing an orange diaper?”
“Well, I guess I better get going. I have a client at 10am.” Phoebe got up and walked toward the door. She turned the handle, and the door wouldn’t open. It startled her as she ran into the door thinking it was open. “Ooh! Monica your door is being rude.” she turned toward the living room.
“What?” Monica walked over to the door and pulled. “What the hell?” she said looking at the door.
From the other side came laughter. It was Mr. Heckles.
“Mr. Heckles! Let us out!” Monica pounded on the door. It was no use. The laughter faded away as he left. Phoebe and Monica turned to the boys.
Ross got up and cracked his knuckles.
“Yeah, right,” Joey said pushing him out of the way. “I’ll handle this. Takes a real man to open a door!” He tugged on the handle, but it didn’t go anywhere. “Huh.” Joey stepped back confused.
