A little bird, softly chirping.

Seung Mina lay on the lush, green grass, exhausted from her from solitary training session. She looked up into the azure sky, letting her mind wander. Pink cherry blossom petals would slowly drift to the ground from a cherry tree nearby. She exhaled softly, closing her eyes. Training sessions could be rigorous and exhausting, so she always welcomed the completion of each session. That is when she would simply collapse to the grassy floor, letting all her cares float away on the wind. She loved to lie there, watching fluffy white clouds scroll by, imagining what it would be like to be on one. She especially loved it when she was lying with Hwang, gazing at the heavens. She smiled to herself, wondering if he was done with his training session. She longed to see his handsome face, again.

She suddenly opens her eyes, hearing a high-pitched chirp. A tiny yellow bird was sitting in the cherry tree, singing a happy little tune. Mina’s heart sang. It was such a sweet, melodious song, completely charming her. She was simply captivated by the endearing little creature. The little bird continued to chirp, sitting on the branch, looking so cute. Mina would lift her hand towards the little bird, longing for it to come to her. Then, without warning, it got off from its perch and flew straight towards her, landing gently on her outstretched finger. Mina gasped with delight, so utterly enchanted. She was amazed that this delicate little creature could trust her enough to rest on her finger, moving her so.

“You are just so sweet!” she would exclaim, gazing adoringly at the little bird. It would cheerfully chirp at her, as if it was answering back, causing Mina to laugh.

Unbeknownst to her, standing several feet away was Hwang, watching her. He gazed adoringly at her, the same expression she had for the little bird. He could never get enough of the joy that she radiated, transforming everything around her. She was a ray of light, able to lift the gloomiest of spirits. She could always make him smile. He knew in his heart of hearts, that he could never live without her. The thought of a world without Mina was unimaginable. She was the one who gave him hope.

Suddenly, the little bird flew from Mina’s hand and went to where Hwang was, landing on his shoulder. He looked at the bird, chirping at him, then turned his gaze toward Mina, who’s eyes were upon him, sparkling with delight. He would carefully take the bird into his hands, cupping it gently. Then, he lovingly kissed its head, murmuring softly.

“Please give Mina my love,” he whispered. The little bird flew from his hands and went towards Mina, landing daintily in her hands. She kisses its little head, the same place where Hwang had kissed.

“Thank you, little one,” she would whisper. “Thank you for bringing my love to me.” The bird chirped sweetly, then flew away, seemingly content at completing its duty to bring the two lovebirds together.

Mina felt a little sadness, watching the little bird fly away. But her heart would pound, as she turned her eyes towards Hwang, who was walking over to her, his smoldering eyes holding her captive. Her chest would heave, her bosom rising and falling, as he came closer. He kneeled before, looking intently at her, as she lay there, waiting for him. He was soon over her, his face on hers, their lips upon each other, not wanting to part.

Thank you, Mina would silently say, thanking the little yellow bird that brought them together, drowning in Hwang’s love…
