A sparring session leads to something more.
Mina and Hwang are a trademark of Namco.
Rain pounded on the roof of the Seung dojang. Inside the main hallway, two figures – a girl and a young man – moved gracefully, moving in unison, their weapons whirling and twirling, demonstrating their prowess. The young woman moved with balletic fluidity, wielding Scarlet Thunder – a long, bladed rod – with great dexterity. The young man wielded Blue Thunder – a curved broadsword – moving with both power and elegance. Their slashes seem to leave an imaginary trail, as if they were painting the air around them, telling a story with their blades. They were in their own world, their focus inward, listening to their senses. Then they stopped and turned towards each other and bowed, their eyes never leaving each other.
Mina eyed the handsome man before her, her hear pounding. Hwang raised an eyebrow at her, seemingly taunting her in his quiet way. Then she suddenly thrust her Scarlet Thunder at him, but he simply parried it away. She then spun her weapon at him, but he sidestepped it, causing her go into a roundhouse kick. He simply blocked it and grabbed her foot with his free hand, his gaze drawn to her leg. Hwang could not help but notice how long and shapely it was. His eyes traveled upwards, up to her thigh, drinking in her creamy skin. He had to fight the urge to brush his lips against it, wanting to to feel her softness. He was so distracted that he almost did not see her thrust Scarlet Thunder at him. He immediately lets go of her foot and deflects it with Blue Thunder, causing her to stumble back. She glares at him, annoyed. Hwang smirks. She was such a fiery little minx. No wonder she was the mistress of Scarlett Thunder – she was well matched with her weapon.
Mina started another flurry of graceful attacks, determined to beat him. Hwang continued to parry and deflect, not even attempting to attack her once. Of course he would never attack her! She was too precious to him. In sparring sessions like these, he would never wholeheartedly attack. The thought of hurting her horrified him. With Mina, he was always gentle with her. Unfortunately, this infuriated her. She was always telling him that he never took seriously, that he never saw her as a worthy opponent. She always felt slighted by him. But that was not the case. Hwang considers Mina to be one of the most capable warriors he has ever known. She had saved him on numerous occasions with her spunk and tenacity. She was truly a competent fighter. He respected her a great deal. But he would never physically harm her. He vowed to forever protect and defend her, a vow he would never break. Even if she attempted to kill him, he would rather die by her hands than leave a scratch on her. He is her sworn protector, he would die for her.
