Hi.

I woke up in the hospital. My head was throbbing for some reason. My parents sat beside me with my brother, waiting anxiously for me to wake up. (Well, I I’m pretty sure my brother couldn’t care less.) “Sup squishy brain, how’s life?” my brother sneered. Ignoring him, I asked my mom what happened. They told me I had fainted at Toby’s house and they brought me over. The police wants to ask me some questions later. When they left, I stood up, thinking about what had happened. Toby was dead. His whole family was dead. Before I knew it, it was time for my to go home and when my mom picked me up, I saw a doll, a smiling doll.

At home with nothing do. Eating candy and playing checkers with myself to pass time. My parents kept me home because they think I’m still in shock from what happened. “Hey idiot, how’s the mushy brain boy?” my brother asked me. I didn’t reply and he laughed at his own joke and left for school. I thought over what he just said to me. Mushy Brain! Who the fuck does he think he is? I seethed with anger. The more I thought about it the more angrier I got. My vein seemed to have popped. I feel nothing as I raged.

   “Guughhh!!!” I screamed to myself.

My mom ran upstairs calling my name. “Tom, you okay?” Not replying I kept on screaming. When she reached out to touch me I pushed her away. My heart was beating so fast it feels like it is going to pop out of my chest. I felt like I had the power of the world. I jumped up and touched the ceiling. To my surprise, my fingers just crumbled the wall. I felt the ceiling crack. Going up higher and higher and my mom shrieking at me in surprise, calling my name constantly. I ignored her and kept going higher up the sky. The lust for touching the sun was so strong that I just kept going up. Up. Up. Up and Up.

All of the sudden, I lost my momentum and seemed to fall. I landed on my feet and cried out to myself in surprise. I was at Toby’s house again. The bodies were cleared out and everything seemed to be normal, except there was a lot of spiders. Crawling toward Toby’s room. Up the stairs. One by one. Without hesitation, I followed. All the spiders crawled under the doorway. I turned the doorknob and…

   And…

   The room was empty.

“Tom…Tom…”  a voice whispered from behind my back. A chill seemed to come up my spine. I turned around and saw a mirror. Wait… when was there a mirror there? Looking at the mirror, I can’t see a myself as the reflection. Instead, I saw my family, gruesomely killed. I screamed in terror and ran out of Toby’s house.

The cold stung my skin right when I came out. I ran on regardless, ignoring the chill. I jumped over my neighbours bush and climbed the fence, right to my lawn.  I fumbled with my key and swung my door open…
