This book I wrote is a bridging book to The Crucible.
At Crucible High everyone is always doing something shady or spreading rumors, but this time it got out of hand. Our story begins with a new foreign exchange student named Latasha, who came in from Columbia. She also brought with her new drugs. To be exact, she brought cocaine.
On the first day of school Latasha quickly made friends with her fellow seniors. This group of girls decided to go hang out at the back of the school, because Latasha wanted to show the girls something she brought with her from Columbia. When the girls arrived to the hang out, Latasha revealed some freshly processed cocaine. At first, all the girls gasped and wondered what was going on. Latasha replied, “Don’t worry, doing it one time won’t hurt and it’s really fun.” The girls were very skeptical about doing the cocaine. One of the bravest and most inquisitive girls was Allisa. She came from a smart family, and was always pressured by her parents to get straight A’s. Allisa was short, blonde and most people know her as the girl with really bad kankles. Anyways, Allisa was willing to try it out of curiosity. The girls that were with her (who were Jackie Dorris, Kary Lauren, and Lacey Luis) watched as Allisa willingly sniffed the white powder.
The three other girls soon followed Allisa’s lead. Jackie tried it right after Allisa. Jackie always followed Allisa around and adored her like a god. Jackie was a small girl that had blonde hair and blue eyes. Next to go was Lacey. Lacey was the person in the group who was just kind of there. She would fit the definition of a follower. Lacey was very self-conscious because of her weight. Last to go was Kary. She was the most reluctant. Kary was the innocent girl of the group, who always tried to do what’s right.
A while later, after the high from the cocaine was gone, everyone was laughing and wanting to do hits again. Then, suddenly, the five girls heard footsteps in the distance. To their horror, it was principal Dorris! Principal Dorris was related to Allisa and Jackie; he not only was their principal, but also their uncle. His most obvious characteristic was that he was a midget, but he was very serious and strict and most people wouldn’t dare make fun of him. Forgetting to pick up the remnants of the cocaine, they all quickly tried to vanish out of sight. But suddenly the girls tripped over a tree trunk and fell on their faces. They got away, but principal Dorris got a glimpse of them. As the girls caught up to each other, gasping for air, they vowed to never confess to doing the cocaine.
