Doggett and Reyes find their own office.

“Thank you for your time, agents!” AD Skinner said as John Doggett and Monica Reyes along with about 20 other agents got up to leave the meeting room. John and Monica walked toward the elevator casually talking about the meeting.

When they got to the basement floor the elevator doors opened and they walked down the hall toward the office they shared with Mulder and Scully. John tried to turn the handle but it was locked. He looked up at her and smiled.

“Again?” she asked already knowing the answer.

“I’d say so,” he said with a little chuckle.

They went across the hall to a little meeting room. It had a small table with three chairs on both sides and a filing cabinet in the corner. Monica sat down at the table while John went over to the filing cabinet. In the top drawer were a few games: Monopoly, Guess Who, some puzzles, and a couple decks of cards. Usually they worked on their case but sometimes they didn’t have one to work on.

“So whadaya wanna play?” John asked.

“They can’t be much longer. I mean we were at the meeting for an hour. So I

guess lets play cards!”

John pulled out a pack of Planet Hollywood cards and threw them on the table. Monica picked them up and started to shuffle them.

“Egyptian Rat Screw?” she suggested.

“Oh, you wanna lose do you?” he teased.

“What? I never lose to you at this game!” she yelled even though she always did lose.

“Sure, Monica, whatever you wanna think,” he said as she dealt the cards.

They played until John won the game a half an hour later.

“What did I tell ya?” he teased her. “You can never defeat me!”

“I don’t like this game anymore!” she slammed her fist down with a playful pout.

“You just can’t stand to lose!” he said laughing. “If it makes you feel any

better we don’t have to play anymore. We can probably go back to the office

now.”

They got up, and John put the cards back into the filing cabinet. They walked across the hall to see if the door was unlocked and sure enough…

“Still locked.”

“What do they do in there?” Monica asked not wanting an answer.

“I don’t wanna know!” John answered knowing she didn’t want to know either.

They went back into the meeting room and sat down.

“You know what we need?” John asked. “Our own office.”

“So we can lock the doors?” Monica asked grinning.

“Not just for that!” he said returning her grin. “So we don’t have to do this. You know, wait until we can go back in.”

“We could use this room for our office! It’s perfect! The files can go over here in the corner and the desks can go over there!” she said excitedly.

“Whoa! Hold on now, Monica! There’s only room for one desk in here. If we had two we wouldn’t have much room left!”

“There’s plenty of room for two desks!” she argued.

“Sure there’s room for two desks but what about chairs? We gotta have somewhere to sit. Mulder and Scully had one desk. We share one already anyway.”

“Yeah, I guess you’re right.”

“Ok, the desk and the chair can go over here,” he said pointing to the back of the room.

“Wait a minute!” she said, as he put a chair where he thought is should go. “You said ‘the chair.’ You mean one chair? Singular?”

“Yeah why not?” he smiled as he leaned back in the chair.

“If there’s only one chair where are YOU going to sit?” she asked walking slowly toward him.

“In the chair, of course!” he stated. His smile was getting bigger.

“Then where am I going to sit?”

“In the chair!” he laughed.

“Oh, so I’m going to be sitting in your lap!” she giggled.

“Well, Mulder and Scully had two chairs and it took them, what seven, eight

years to get to where they are?”

“You don’t want to wait eight years?” she asked as she sat on his lap wrapping her arms around his neck.

“Nope,” he said as he gently brushed his lips against hers.
