Journal entry about being a mother, education, ambition and interests.

I am currently on maternity leave after having my first child, a son. I am also engaged to the love of my life, and living with them both in our own little home. My son, Fiance, friends and family all mean alot to me.

In my opinion, life doesn’t mean a thing without the amazing people you share it with.

Like alot of people my age I am not 100% sure what I want to do in the future. I used to have it all mapped out but after a short 3 months at University in 2007 I realised Social work was not the path for me to follow. So yes that makes me a university dropout, but I couldn’t continue doing something I simply had no interest in pursuing. It was not at all what i thought it would be. I then took on more hours at my part time job, as a laundry assistant, and just enjoyed being young while i tried to decide on my next move. I was going to be attending college last year to do TV production but ended up not going as i got pregnant and decided to concentrate on that instead.

So, At the moment, i am concentrating on being a mum and am on maternity leave from my job until later this year in able to do so. I will however go back to education or training one day and make something of myself, and yes that’s a promise… I know i can be succesful and i will prove the people who think otherwise wrong. I also want to travel the world one day, i want to see everything and experience as much as possible of what this world has to offer.

I have an interest in psychology and socialogy, having got higher qualifications in both and still seeking to learn more. The world, people’s interactions and the human mind all fascinate me. As does self analysis. I enjoy listening to all sorts of music and watching various genres of TV and film… the entertainment and media orientated society we live in these days intrigues me. I also like to read, I particularly like psychological thrillers and mysteries, but romance and drama also capture my attention from time to time. I am a regular reader of the monthly Psychologies magazine too. Writing is another interest of mine, it is something I think I would love to have a career in one day.

I am quite emotional and opinionated, writing is a release for both of these things, amoungst others. I am often referred to as someone who thinks ‘too much’, but I just seem to be a very curious person and like to see the big picture and the smaller details that create it
