I went on a date once with a young guy who just got out of the military. He was strong, young, handsome, and fun. I thought he was cute. I met him while standing outside of the mall waiting for my ride. I just got out of work.  He drove up to me and ask me if I needed a ride. I told him “no.” He then ask for my phone number and I gave it to him. I was only eighteen years old. What do I know? I was so innocence and I think it was a mistake dating him.

I went home and I called him. We talk but I remembered that he lied about a lot of things. It was like he was a pathological lier. He said that he was sitting in the front row of an Emmy award show which is nearly impossible. You don’t get front row seat unless you’re a celebrity or you’re in the film industry. The tickets are expensive too. We were talking and in the middle of our conversation he say he has to go. He hangs up the phone sharply without properly saying bye to me. I heard he say something in the background to someone. It was, ” are you in the shower?” I thought it was strange but I was innocence then and I didn’t think anything of it. I was still young and confuse and I didn’t have a lot of boyfriends then. I have only dated one guy in my life.

I went on a date with him. We went to see a movie and we had lunch afterward. He was sitting in the theater with me but he was eyeing a lot of other women. He went out on his own to do some other things. After the movie was over, we went out to eat. We had lunch. He was looking at other men while we were eating so I was confuse. I didn’t know if he was gay or not. We went to the beach afterward and we dance. I thought I was happy and he seems harmless. All thoughout the date, I had the word “cheating” on my mind. Something constantly told me that he was cheating. It turned out later that he was cheating. I called his house after the date and a girl picked up the phone. She says she was his girlfriend. I told her that he went out with me today. She told me that she knew he was doing that. She said that it hurts her but he kept on doing it. She said that he doesn’t care for her anymore. She came out to meet me. We talked about our problems. She was young and pretty. She said that she ran away from home and that this guy took her in to care for her. She said that they used to be together but he stops being intimate with her. He moved on to other women. This was one of the most devasting cheating event in my life as I can recall. I don’t think I ever want to go through it again.
