When the thunder is booming and the lightening is flashing, a person with a vivid imagination can get into such a state.

People that know me, know that I am blessed with a vivid imagination. Sometimes it comes in very handy. For instance, when trying to decide on a course of action, such a person can imagine every pro and con that could happen in said action and even come up with a solution, if a solution is called for. Thus helping the process of deciding if the action should be undertaken or not.

On the other hand, sometimes it can make for an interesting day, to say the least. It is one of those times I am writing about.

It really was a dark and stormy night. A violent storm at that. The kind where the thunder rolls and the lightening is scary and the rain comes down in sheets and you can’t see 3 feet in front of you.

Ray and I would normally not be out on such a night, but one of our customers had called. An old lady who’s outside motion detector lights had just went out and she was scared without them. What are you going to do? You have no choice really. Can’t leave an old widow lady alone and scared like that. So off we went to fix her lights.

One was in the back and one in the front. Thankfully they had deep overhangs, so Ray didn’t get, too soaked. Once I determined there wasn’t really anything for me to do, I retreated to the work van to my book.

I always carry a book, everywhere I go. I was just getting to the exciting part, too. Where one finds out who did the murder and mayhem.

As gasoline is so high now, I didn’t turn the van on, just turned the key backwards so I could punch that small little round light to read by. You know the kind I mean. Looks like those tiny ones found in the back of a plane. Deep in coach.

Anyway, there I was, all engrossed when I suddenly hear a noise. I paused in my reading, with my head cocked to the side, but couldn’t tell what it was or where it came from. It kind of sounded like thunder, but different. Anyway, since I couldn’t source it, I went back to my book.

A minute or so later, it happened again. This time, I looked out the windows and peered down the street. Not seeing anything at all. The sound was really strange, like a rumbly sound. That is the best I can describe it.
