Come to think of it, the task of job hunting can sometimes very very frustrating to say the least. This is so especially when you are pressing the right buttons but seems to be getting no where. That is exactly what I have done for the past 7 months until I discovered something vital which I believe would help revolutionise the way we look for jobs. Not only would it help revolutionise the art of job hunting, it will also make the experience a very pleasant one.

As already indicated, I have been job hunting for nearly 7 months but to no avail. During this period, I have done a couple of contract work here and there with some recruitment agencies that I registered with. However, I have not had any stable employment as all the jobs have been on a temporary basis as we call it in the United Kingdom as “temping“. Such is the frustrating nature of the whole experience that I am begining to lose confidence in my abilities and skills. That is until I did something a few hours ago which has revolutionise the way I do the job hunting experience and one which hopefully you would love… And although I do not know what the outcome of this step will be, I am encouraged by the response I have had so far…

How It All Started

I recently saw a job advert on a job site on the internet for the position of a warehouse supervisor. I have not done any work in a warehouse although I know that it involves packing and some amount of lifting which is alright by me. Certainly under the current economic climate and when you are looking to make earns meet, you cannot ignore anything that comes your way and in particular, when what you are looking at is way beyond your capabilities- as long as it puts food on your table and for your family.

However, there were other factors that attracted me to this job in question- first of all, the premises of the company was within commutable distance from where I am living. I literally would have to walk for less than 5 minutes to get to work. This would save me the hassle of going through early morning rush hour on both trains and buses granted that I am given the opportunity to work there. Secondly, it would have also saved me alot of money in transportation as it is quiet expensive to make your around an expensive city like London and generally, it will provide a very relaxing way to working which at this moment in time, many people are looking for in a potential job. Thus, I will be killing too many birds” with one stone so to speak. The downside of it was that I have no experience in warehouse supervisory positions but the advantages at this point far outweighed the negatives, having already applied for the job officially through the internet where it was first advertised.
