My son in law figured that would be it and the lady would want more. But she smiled, stuck out her hand to Gerrin and said, “Young man you got a deal”. Then shook Gerrin’s hands. Gerrin grinned at his dad and said “Okay Daddy you can pay for it”. Les my son in law said; “Gerrin, I will pay for it but your going to have to do chores to pay me back Okay?” Yup! Gerrin said. My son in law told the lady he would come back the next day to pick up the riding mower. He figured that he could probably fix it since he is a mechanic and that he would have Gerrin help him fix it. Gerrin got his own real set of tools this past winter for a gift and is very proud of them. But the story does not end here.

When they got home Gerrin ran to tell his mother about his deal. “But I got to pay dad back so need to do chores” he told her. His mother said well you can start by helping me clean this floor. “Okay mom”; he said “But can I have six dollars instead of five dollars”? “Why” my daughter asked him. He said, “Well so I can pay my sisters a quarter each to help me with my chores”. My son in law and daughter and his sisters all busted out laughing and his mom told him, Okay Gerrin you have a deal. He earned the six dollars and paid each of his sisters a quarter for helping him.

The lady has another riding mower for sale that does not work either and he wants to go down and buy that one too. He wants to earn five dollars more for that one as well, and he was at my house asking for chores and to get paid to do them. I had him help me put away folded laundry and pick up dirty laundry and bring in some firewood. We still have snow here and today it is snowing again. I paid him three dollars. He is coming here today and is helping Papa with the animal chores and Papa said he would give him two more dollars. My son in law said he will of course want to ride it but he won’t let him. But he will let him on his lap to ride when they get up and running.

Gerrin told his dad, when they are fixed we can go mow lawns for people and make more money. So at four years old he has already begun his first business, Riding Lawn Mower Tractor Service.Have mowers will travel. Of course Daddy will do the work for now and Gerrin said he would share the money paid with dad for helping him do the work. We asked him what he wanted to call his business, he said, Me and Dad and Andrey. Andrey is his baby brother. His dad said how about LaFleur and sons? Gerrin said “No how about LaFleur and Dad” so that is what it is called at least for now. With that settled, Gerrin asked me, Nana, can we make some chocolate chip cookies now, my tummy really wants some.” I said Okay Gerrin so today we are making Chocolate chip cookies.
