About chatting with a new found friend and a discussion about the snow.

I just want to share with you guys a quick little story about something that inspired me yesterday to write for the first time in a while. As many of you know I like to make friends almost anywhere I go. It’s been raining here for a week or so and our neighborhood Rite Aid store is where we go often for our “Adult Beverage”.

I know most of the employees by name, and Ms. Bo Jack and I always joke about them carding us like there was any chance in the world either of us was less than 21 years old.

Those of you who’ve seen my pictures know I have a little grey around the temples, I was joking with Debbie Mann about it a couple of days ago.

Well yesterday it was pouring out side and I told the cashier it just started kicking up bad a few minutes earlier. We started chit chatting as I’ve known her for a little while now. We got to talking about the snow, and I didn’t know it but she’s only been here for a month or two.

I asked her where she was from and she said the Philippines. I immediately thought about my good buddy Papa, Cutest Princess, Dee Gold and RF I know I missed a couple of names.

Anyway we got to talking, the store was pretty empty, and Mama was out waiting in the car because she didn’t want to get wet.

Anyhow, she told me she had never seen snow in her life and didn’t know we get tropical storms here. She thought it was just regular “Rain” as she put it. We discussed a big storm cloud and both agreed it must have come in from the west from the ocean.

Then she told me she saw hail a few days ago and got very excited about that, she said she was on her break and was standing out in the hail, and we both had a good laugh about it because I knew about the hail, I didn’t see it but when I heard it I knew right away what it was.

I saw her today after the story had been published and asked if she got the chance to drive out to the snow and she gave a disappointing sigh and said she was at work all day and never got the chance yet. Anyway, I just thought it was a cute little story and I told her how to get there and told her about my poetry site and my several friends in the Philippines. Once when Papa and I were talking back and fort a little bit as you all know I do often, He told me they were some of the nicest people one could find and his message was true once more. So now I have another new friend. It really is kind of funny because as I’ve told you all before we have lots of homeless vets and I have sat and talked with many of them and they are all pretty good people and I think I probably know every employee at the local grocery store and every single employee at Petco and Pet Smart, due to our spoiled cats and my huge goldfish. Every where I go we get honks and waves, and sometimes I don’t even remember who it was.

If you are waiting in line to get to the cashier, you know Bo Jack is going to make you laugh. Of that you can be sure.

You and Mrs. Bo seem like really nice people. I’ll have to visit some time.
The first time I remember seeing hail I ran inside and told my mom that it was raining popcorn!

I have a feeling you share sunshine wherever you go. I’m lucky to have a friend like you and Triond is a better place for you sharing with us.

For those who have never seen snow, it’s pretty to look at, but I don’t like living in it. I prefer the California sunshine.
