The sky above was overwhelmed with crimson and amber-tinted clouds. A golden glow spread across the sky as the sun chased the dark clouds away.

As usual, I was having my morning stroll in the park to calm my nerves. It was a lovely walk, and the whole landscape was bathed in the warm glow of the rising sun. The fresh air filled my lungs and I felt refreshed and exhilarated. Ahh, this was the perfect morning for a stroll!

All of a sudden, there was a deafening “Crash! “. I jumped, obviously startled badly. My heart was beating violently as I sprinted towards the direction of the crash.

A car had skidded, flew across the road divider and smashed against a tree. A twisted, mangled heap of smoking metal was all that remained of the gleaming red Ferrari. Patches of blood could be seen everywhere. Pieces of debris were flying all around.

“Ewwww!”I muttered under my breath as the sight of the blood made me sick. My face turned ashen white and I could feel the goose bumps rising on my skin. My stomach constricted into a tiny knot as I stared at the blood with my jaw hanging wide open.

As the policemen appealed for eye-witnesses for the fatal accident, a man in his thirties snapped angrily, ” Well, that driver was totally insane! He swerved left to right, overtaking many vehicles and not abiding by the traffic rules. Puddles of water were everywhere, making the road slippery and dangerous. Yet, that madman was still going at full speed instead of driving carefully. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he got into an accident.”

The underlying cause of the accident was reckless driving. The police cordoned off the area and persuaded the crowd to disperse. The accident caused serious traffic congestion as many curious motorists strained their necks to catch a glimpse of the accident.

I shook my head disapprovingly. Fortunately, nobody else was hurt except for a little girl who looked rather frightened. In my opinion, the police should take strict action against road users who endanger the lives of others by behaving foolishly, selfishly and dangerously. What a terrifying experience it was!
