Life in the sixties.

My addiction to amphetamines was getting beyond a joke, finally I realised that taking these pills got the job done but my mood swings and lack of sleep were changing me from just a couple each day I was now taking 6 or more which in those days were to many, I was one Of the lucky ones I realised that this couldn’t go on and I had to put a stop to it. I did and I swear I never dabbled again ever.

My Relationship had developed and Janni proposed to me. He Loved me enough I thought, to want to put a ring on my finger, I was so Happy, l chose a white lacy trouser suit With a wide brim Navy Blue Hat, Navy Shoes and Gloves, My Friend and My Sister had slaved all day to give me a good reception,

That night out of the blue I had a visit from My Mother, along with my Other Sister Both looked so serious, I knew something wasn’t right. They Told me they had been to see a clairvoyant and she had warned of pending doom to a new relationship, ME.

I laughed at first I thought it was a joke, but no they were serious, My Mother begged me not to Marry Him, I thought she was so cruel, how could they do this on the eve of my wedding.

The wedding went ahead as planned, this was something I’d always dreamed about, my Fairy story come true, or so I thought.

Several Months Later My Husband began receiving letters from His Mother, His Father was ill and may not last , Janni had to return Home. We packed our cases and soon we were on our way Myself My Husband My Daughter and I was pregnant.

I had no Idea what kind of a reception I would have on  arriving in Italy, I couldn’t speak the language and would have to rely on Janni to help me , I felt lost.

It turned out that the Father was no where near his Death bed and would last many years yet, he was in hospital but it was minor and was able to return home after a few days, Id left the only security Id known to come to this strange Country, Janni reassured me Everything would be ok, that was far from the truth.
