A discussion about acceptance.
In this life, we always ask for acceptance. Each one of us is very unique, and very much and individualist. It’s in that uniqueness, that we can blend and meld together, sometimes as one, that would be two as one (marriage), or as companions, friends, acquaintances. We all have different skills, levels of expertise, and interests, sometimes the same, most of the time different. It’s in those differences, that we can begin to learn other things, such as cultures, history, party life, and a plethora of other things, without changing one single iota of our inner being, just the acceptance of the differences, opens new avenues, usually filled with great adventure and joy. When we block those differences, and keep to a staid and stodgy course, we limit ourselves in our capacities to realize, perhaps, our full potential, as caring and giving humans, on this wonderful planet of ours. I don’t like living a life full of limits, I like challenging the limits that I impose on myself, or that others might impose on me. I seek joy, peace and happiness in everything I do, and I hope for acceptance, respect and concern that should go both ways in any relationship. I know I shouldn’t say the word should, perhaps it can be changed to WILL GO BOTH WAYS. That denotes action, on my part, to make it happen, instead of placid acceptance, without even attempting to bring myself to the equality of any relationship. This statement simply means that I will do my best, to do my part, to give what I hope to receive.
Accept me as I am, it’s taken years to get to this point, and I do treasure every moment of my life, Will you do the same with me, in your own way?
