Threasa’s parents died at a young age. Master Alstaf took her in as a maid. She worked her way up to become a member of the household. Getting use to being called Lady Threasa she has come to date the older brother Malici. She relizes that this man isn’t what she wants.
Part 1
We walked down the steps, my arm linked with Maliki’s as I looked around. There were many different colors and people. I loved the excitement of parties, people talking, dancing, eating and drinking. I never really drank much because I didn’t like the taste but I loved to watch the people have fun. It helped myself to have fun and enjoy myself. Maliki picked a table in a small corner and sat next to me. I fixed my skirt as Zeke had disappeared into the crowd.
“Is this what you were expecting?”
“Ofcourse it is. If people are not having fun then there is no point in even trying to go to parties.” He shuckled.
“You should try thinking about what makes you happy besides other.” I gave a playful shrug.
“But then… I wouldn’t be happy.”
“Would you like a drink? I asume you ate before coming.”
“Yes I did have something to wat and yes a drink would be lovely.” He nodded and left my side. I waved at a family friend as I did not see the host or hostess anywhere to greet them witch I liked doing if they were the first people I see. I sat my feet criss crossed at the aner my long flowing skirt.
“Excuse me?” I heard a males voise. Not as authority as I am use to but mostly on the timid side, although very smooth and perfect pitched. I turned to see just that a male standing not too close but maybe two feet behind me. His blue eyes wore black glasses, his eyes were almond shapped that mostly hid the emotions going on inside their bright green blue brilliance. He wasn’t very tall maybe six foot, with me being use to men in the house being atleast six foot three. He wore a simple white shirt over top was a dark green vest then a dark jungle green jacket over top the vest. His pants were black but with the green they had a dark green tint to them. His hair was parted in the middle the same color aburn as mine with a hint of black. It stopped just below his ear lobe and the sudden edge to run my fingers through it hit like a ton of brinks. It looked soft and curled at his eyes. “I couldn’t help but to see such a beautiful woman walk in. I relize you are currently with someone here at my fathers party but while your company isn’t here… would you care for a dance?”
“Well, I don’t dance with stange men all the time.” I said my voise low and with a hint of playfulness to it that made him smile, his one arm go about his waist as he bowed.
“I am Alastar Godrick…” I stood and curseied.
“I am Threasa Silverheart and it would be an honor to dance.” He held out his hand and I took it. As our palms met I felt the fire that almost frightened me but I did not let him down. I had already said I would dance. My heart fell to my stomack as we did not speak for a moment as he lead me out to the dance floor. My feet seemed to be on wings as his arm came around my waist and his other grasped my hand and he began to dance to the soft swaying music. He wasn’t at all close to me him knowing I was with someone else at the party. His eyes watched mine as I bit my lower lip.
“Am I making you nervous?” I shook my head and smiled.
“No, not at all.” He nodded once and moved closer. I felt my body temp rise as I felt his front almost to mine. My hands started to shake as we continued to dance.
“So, you are part of the Alstaf family?”
“I was adopted into the family.”
“Your not taken by marriage?” I shook my head.
“No… I am with the one son but I am neither engaged nor married. I do not suggest you try anything however. He is rather jelous person.” He laughed as I smiled.
“Wasn’t thinking of it. Just being able to smell your scent, hold you close, and talk with you will satify me at the moment.”
“So what happens when that moment runs out?” He gave a light playful shrug.
“Then… I keep the erges to myself. I am not one to stomp all over someones relationship.”
“It’s ok.. I guess.” He made a slight hum noise.
“Why only ok?”
“It’s… really complicated.”
“I understand.” He suddenly turned as Maliki had tapped his shoulder. His arms left my body making me feel as if a part of me was taken with him. “Good evening, sir. I am…”
“I am well aware of who you are.” Maliki said low, harsh and dagger like. He almost shoved Alastar to the side and grasped my elbow just as harsh as his words were. “We are leaving, Threasa.” He turned me around not letting me say anything to Alastar. I saw Zeke come up behind Alastar as he started talking to him. I saw his brilliant eyes watch as Maliki lead me out of the ball room. He found our carriage easily. He opened the door and not a word to me or me to him he shoved me in. We stayed silent the whole way home as I looked out the window fuming that he foursed me to leave so soon. I didn’t even get to ask Alastar anything, get to know him, get to be friends or invite him over for tea… nothing. He watched me. I could feel the blue eyes on me but refused to look at him. We came up the drive for the house and it was parked by the entrance. I jerked up from my seat and threw the door opened hitting the side of the carriage. I jumped out not even caring about how lady like I should act with a dress on. Maliki wasn’t far behind me as I lifted my skirts and headed inside. “Threasa!” He yelled after me. I stopped only to be grasped again by my elbow and dragged to the garden out back. He stopped me and I turned to him my arms over my chest not caring what he had to say. I looked at him as I noticed Jerimah’s shadow over looking the garden from his study window. “You know better then to act that way.”
“What way?”
“Dancing with another man while you are there with me.”
“It was just harmless dancing. Nothing we did was wrong.”
“You might not have noticed it but I didn’t apprecaite the looks he was giving you?”
“Everyone gives me bad looks according to you!” I yelled.
“Only ones that desire you!” He was yelling back at me now as he stood a few feet from me. I knew the whole house was aware that we were in another argument.
“Not everyone I dance with wants to bed me!”
“It’s not proper for a women who is with someone to dance with another man!”
“I can dance with whom ever I want to rather or not I am with you or by myself!”
“You are my woman! I am the only man alive that can place my hands on you!”
“I am not married to you!”
“I can arrange that.” I thought for a moment. Then came to the realization that I didn’t want to be married to him.
“No, Maliki.. I don’t want to marry you.” I said as calmly as the thought had accured to me.
“What?” His voise dropped as if he seemed to be missing a piece of the puzzle and it had slipped from the table unto the floor to be picked up by the maid walking by.
“I said I don’t want to be with you anymore. You are smothering me. Telling me what I can and can not do. I do not want that. You are a jelous childish person and that would not make a good husband for me. I have to tip toe over ever choise I make. Will this make Maliki mad? Will I have to argue my point then at the end just say ok because no matter what anyone says he just doesn’t listen anyways.”
“I do to listen.”
“No you don’t.”
“Threasa…”
“Maliki…” He turned to his father’s voise as I just noticed him standing by the door. “May I speak to you just for a minute.” Maliki looked at me then went to his father as I stood there with my arms tighter folded over my chest then before. I heard them talking more under their breath then anything. Maliki nodded, his father disappeared into the house, then he came to me.
“Father needs me to leave.”
“Leave?”
“To take a trip. I am not sure when I can or will be back but it is very important to him that I go.” He grabbed my hands and held them to him. “Please… wait for me. I will come back a better person, I promise.” I looked at his eyes for a moment. “Promise me you will wait.”
“I…” I looked at the ground knowing that I did not want to wait but didn’t want to hurt his feelings after the fact I just told him I didn’t want to be with him. “I am not going to make a promise I can not keep. Maliki, you and I are through.” He stared at me for a moment, then backed away from me.
“We are not through. Not in the least.” He then turned and went into the house. I felt the tears roll down my face as I watched his broad back dissapear. I went inside the house and to my room. I took my dress off hanging it back up. I laid on my bed looking up at the ceiling as the tears wouldn’t stop. I heard in the distance the sound of Maliki’s horse as he left the manor. I rolled on my side and soon found sleep.
