From the time we woke up ’til the time we settled down, we were in for a ride.
So we are finally out of the ditch and heading home. When we finally reach town again I notice a weird noise. I looked out my window and the trim around my finder was flapping in the wind. The bad thing was it was sticking out about two feet so if anyone was to pass me it would have scraped there car. I then turned to my wife laughing and she had put her seat down so no one could see her in the vehicle. She was embarrassed.
When we get home my wife says that she isn’t feeling too good. Knowing that she is four months pregnant we had one of her friends come and pick her up and take her to the hospital. They ran a bunch of tests on her but they said everything was alright and she was probably just a bit shaken up by the accident.
Now she has gotten back from the hospital and our son has awakened from his nap in the hallway. Her dad stops over after work and looks at the blazer. He said it was alright I just needed to glue one of my head lights back on. So we heard the good news and went to the store to get something for supper that night. On our way back from the store a trucker had hit a fire hydrant and water was spilling all over the road. Now the road was blocked off and we had to take a detour just to get home. We pull into the parking lot of our apartment complex and my wife gathers what she had bought from the store and I get our son out of the car seat. As I am getting our son loose I hear a thump, I turn around and my wife is on the ground. She has the biggest smile but she didn’t see the man who was standing by his van and had seen it all.
After all of the laughter we work our way into our apartment. We settle down and hang up our coats then realize what an 18th birthday it has been.
