Eight year old Robert Manwll was missing for more than a week before his body was found floating in the canal Aug. 3. His mother Thirty-year-old Melissa Jenkins and her boyfriend, 36-year-old Daniel Ehrlick Jr., were  arrested Tuesday

The southwestern Idaho community of Boise was stunned when this child turned up missing. “Probably no other case in Boise history has touched so many people,” Deputy Chief Jim Kerns, of the Boise Police Department, said during a news conference televised Tuesday on KTVB-TV.

 Melissa Jenkins is being held in the Ada County Jail on $2 million bond. Daniel Ehrlick is being held there without bond.

Robert Manwill’s father, Charles Manwill of New Plymouth, Idaho, had custody of the 8 year old who he was visiting his mother due to court ordered visitation rights when he disappeared. Melissa Jankins is on probation for fracturing the skull of little Roberts infant half brother whom the state now has custody of.

Melissa Jenkins also has a third child, a 2 1/2-year-old daughter, fathered by a third man, who has custody of her.
