Hey, I’m Harry Monogenis, I used to write little articles about Runescape, but now I’m a voluntary news writer for a gaming website. On the site I always write news, but one day, I decided to give articles a go, here’s my story, in brief.

Hey everyone,

This (again, brief) article describes how I got around to making one of my most treasured articles.

Have any news writers out there ever experienced a news drought? Well I have, and I just sat there, hoping for some news to come up, so I could do what I enjoy most… write!

While sitting down and waiting, I had an idea, why not write an article! I thought about this and had around 100 ideas on what to write about, I then remembered to only pick something that I know what I’m talking about, something that I have experienced…

So, I picked an idea and started to write, the article consumed two hours, ( one hour of writing on the article a day), I read the article around 50 times over and over, making sure I hadn’t missed any punctuation or made a silly spelling mistake, I also put in a few of my opinions, but in a normal manner without using such phrases as “that sucks” or “what a stupid group of people”, and although it consumed two hours of my “life”, I was very proud of what I had produced, despite the fact that there could of been some “fresh” gaming news being posted on a news sharing website.

Once I had completed it, I clicked the “publish” button and wished it good luck, I didn’t know what to expect when it came to the comments box, I was however expecting at least one person to disagree with me because they were a fan boy. Some comments I received were topic related, but there was one comment that put a big smile on my face:

“This is one of the best articles I’ve read. Not only because I can heavily relate to it, but it’s completely true and I can’t side with you more on the issue. nothing irritates me more, than when a 360 fanboy attempts to insult or belittle me when I mention a fun new PS3 game I’m enjoying. Not only do I have to inform that I too, enjoy 360s, but I also have to tell him he’s retarded for promoting a company not even paying him. Do Verizon customers bash AT&T customers? No, so it’s interesting why gamers are different. Some of us are a manufacturers dream come true.”

I was so proud of myself. To all the news writers and game reviewers out there, if you run out of games to reviews, or news to report, write an article expressing your feelings about the topic your writing about, make it a lengthy piece also, and remember, if you want to say that something “sucks”, use a more advanced term, as you will be critized for it.

Well, I guess that’s it, take into account what I have said when it comes to writing articles, don’t be afraid to place your opinions in the article, but most of all, HAVE FUN!
