I’ve noticed that after I’ve been featured on the "Hot Content", any other articles I comment before these articles are in the "Hot Content" end up getting featured in the "Hot Content" too!
Just recently, two of my articles had their fair share on the ‘Hot Content’ list – ‘Commenting: I Was Very Wrong’ and ‘Derren Brown Predicts The Lottery Numbers Correctly’. So this morning, I sat down to spend a lovely Saturday commenting some people’s work. Finally, after commenting a lot of articles, I decided to step out for a bit and do a bit of homework. Maths questions over, I decided to pop back on to Triond and scrolled down to see the ‘Hot Content’ list for September the 12th, 2009. A shocking sight met my eyes – articles that I commented earlier today, had shot up to the Hot Content list!
In the picture below, 6 out of the 10 articles featured in the ‘Hot Content’ were ones that I had commented on before they featured themselves there.

You might say, well, they might have got loads of comments, likes and views. Yes and no. Some writers are quite prolific so the ‘Hot Content’ is common for them but I checked some of the others and not all of them had loads of comments and likes but still got into the ‘Hot Content’. I definitely had to have more comments and likes if any of my articles were to make it to the ‘Hot Content’. I haven’t been as lucky as these people. I was amazed and for some reason really surprised. It’s not the first time this has happened, when a few of my other articles got featured in the ‘Hot Content’, I noticed the same phenomenon.
Opinions do differ. Some might say the ‘Hot Content’ is a failure, some might say glitches and some might say they deserve to be up there, but I say, WOW! I can’t believe that this actually can happen and I am more excited than my own articles featuring in the ‘Hot Content’.
I think if this happens to others, then this is a brilliant way to give other writers yearning for their spot in the ‘Hot Content’ their fair share of the pie! Really prolific writers can support other young starters by promoting them this way to the rest of Triond. I am truly excited and surprised and I’m glad that the articles I commented are being given their time in the spotlight. I don’t know whether this is me over analysing things or whether this just happens just because the writers are truly good and my article doesn’t really affect their time in the ‘Hot Content’ but if you are me, you will be amazed too. Looks like Triond has more secrets than we can imagine!
If this happens to you, or other prolific writers where your articles feature in the ‘Hot Content’ but when you comment others’ work, it pops into the ‘Hot Content’ too, then please do say something by commenting below.
