What is life for an atheist? Is it sad? Is it “worthless” without a God?

This is my life. This may not account for all atheists, but it’s my perspective on life.

I’m 15 years old, I am studying computer science and I’m a hobbyist programmer. I am getting certified in several areas of computers, including hardware, networking, security, and security testing. What I plan to do with my life is to learn what I can, use it to better support society, and finally have a family to raise and take care of.

What about a God? I have no beliefs for the supernatural, whether of Gods, fairies, or psychics. I live my life knowing that I will, someday, not exist physically. However, I can live on through my children. Although I won’t be conscious, I still feel comfortable knowing that I can do everything I can to help the next generation live and experience life as I’ve been so lucky to do.

To answer the questions, life for an atheist depends on their situation. For myself, I live a happy and fulfilling life, and I accept that death is always a part of life. Death isn’t something to be sad about or afraid of, it’s there and always will be, but before I inevitably leave life, I can do everything to help others and make a mark in history.

Life isn’t worthless, regardless of belief.
