A midlife crisis and how I coped.

This cut no ice with the tourist board I had to pay for five non existant parking spaces at the cost of fifteen thousand pounds or they had the power to close me down.  This information was given to me by a local lawyer who told me it was pointless to argue and just pay the bill and accept that this is how business works in Cyprus.  So with this added cost my first year ran at a loss a small loss but take into mind I had not taken any wage only covering my rent and food.  By the end of my second year things had got better but I had to work longer and longer hours to make a difference and cut down on my wages bill.

I had tourists who had been in Cyprus only a few days who had a better tan than me the only time I got to see the sun was when I opened the door.  The thought of a regular wage and time off for myself became a regular fantasy.  I took the decision to have a holiday and went back home to the United Kingdom whilst there I met an old friend who had started his own car retailing business.  He was opening a new dealership within a couple of months and offered me the job of running it I snatched his hand off,so back to Cyprus to dispose of the bar I now hated it sold for a big loss but at least it was somebody else’s problem now not mine.

So two years after leaving the United Kingdom I was back doing what I did best I could not have been happier my only words of advice are be carefull of what you wish for you might just get it.

this is an inspiring message. a stern warning, perhaps.
although in any dream we want, we could achieve it through determination, confidence and faith…
thanks for sharing this learning experience.
