The tale of a trail of the lost stuffed yellow bunny which belongs to our daughter, Journy.

With all the toys she have, this yellow bunny is her favorite. She is fond of it since she was 7 months old. I would give her different toys but she’d rather have the yellow bunny.

Whatever she does, Bun is always with her. When she is reading she has it in her hand or just sitting at her side. At feeding time, she may be busy eating her meal but she never forgets to keep Bun in her sight. There are times she will have tantrums. She starts fussing and crying. I don’t pick her up when she seems to be in control. She will give up fussing and hold her bunny. It seems that her bunny comforts her a lot.

She wakes up early in the morning before I do. She will just hang out in her bed with Bun and talk to herself or read her books. She may just stand, pointing at things and try to say the names of each item. Her favorite word is “clock”.

Bun is always with her whatever we do and wherever we go. I remember my husband joked to Journey’s brother, “You’d rather lose your under wear than that bunny”. Her brothers know and understand how much this little yellow stuffed toy means to her. When they help to load or unload the car they make sure it is with her. They were once like her. The eldest brother used to love his blanket even how dirty and ugly it was, and the other gave up recently on his dirty and torn pillow he had for 11 years.

One day, my daughter and I went to the store for groceries. I put her in the cart, fixed her hair and got my shopping list out. I am pretty organized with my shopping list which helps me know where to start.

But that day, I was distracted from the food aisle twice. I shopped at the womens’ apparel department and children’s’ clothes department which was not on the list. I spent hours there before I did the grocery shopping. She was fussing and getting cranky so I decided to give her her bunny. I checked the time and I realized we were running late.

We hurried to start the grocery shopping. I got her milk, diapers, wipes and the next thing we needed to get was her Gerber foods. As I put the jar foods in the cart I had to move her diaper bag to make some room. Tragedy! I noticed her bunny was gone.
