Yesterday my wife went to the doctor for her three month cholesterol level screening. When I talked with her she told me that the doctor increased her cholesterol dose and her blood pressure medicine. My wife hasn’t always had these problems because she used to be more active in her daily life. The problem my wife and I have is being too lazy to get off the couch and exercise. I and my wife both know that all we have to do is take a 30 minute walk a day and this would lower her cholesterol and blood pressure. Cholesterol is a fatty substance in your blood. The two types of cholesterol are low density lipoprotein (LDL) and high density lipoprotein (HDL). Low density lipoprotein can build up on the inner walls of the arteries. LDL can eventually clog blood vessels causing heart attack or stroke. High density lipoprotein is the good stuff that helps take the HDL out of the body. So the good guys are HDL and the bad guys are LDL. So make sure the bad guys don’t win and have your cholesterol level checked at least twice a year. Also while you are thinking about your health why not do something about it and be more active.
