My spiritual journey, thoughts, philosophies, personal longing for freedom.
I recently had a spiritual experience. Through a mixture of amazing, dull and fascinating events, something snapped within me. Something told me to drop my so called “respectable job,” quit my boring college studies, end my newly remodeled apartment’s lease, sell almost all of material possessions and go! Where to? Who knew? I just knew what I had to do, go! Explore! Discover! Live! Now! Not later when I’m done with “this and that” first, as my eagerness and hunger for the world and what it holds slips further and further down the priority list. One day I’ll wake up 60 years old and find out that life didn’t go the way I wanted it to anyway. Life rarely does. I’ll discover that I didn’t get to travel or see the world? By then I’ll be too tired and run down to want to travel anywhere maybe a trip to the beach or a final move to Florida will be the extent of my adventures then. So, was I going to be that person? NO! I did it, I left on the most amazing and wonderful journey.
This is what I would like to blog about: My road trip and the series of events leading up to my awakening, how I became a nomad. A modern day nomad, who seeks knowledge and roams the earth learning and loving everything. Me and my husband (who has very recently become my ex, another story for another blog) hit the road with nothing but a backpack, a beat up 1996 Nissan Sentra and $1,800 in my pocket and made it from NY to CA. Arriving to CA with three cents and an empty tank of gas. I have had many adventures and made numerous life-long friends that I continue to send postcards to from my new destinations to update them about my journey. I’d like to share my nomadic philosophies and influences in this blog, as well as my opinions on solutions for our modern day world; not a perfect and utopian one, but a realistic and self-sufficient one. A world that worked for millions of years before our great forgetting (Ishmael, Story of Bee, My Ishmael) and before our farming “revolution” that occurred around 12000 and some odd years ago. If you like this, there’s tons more. If you liked this comment on it so I know you liked it and make a decision as to blog more or quit blogging about this topic.
