About the trials and tribulations of Suka’s dating life.
You can call me Suka. This is one of many dating tales I have as a result of using dating services (on-line and off-line). I’ve tried Yahoo Personals, Together Dating Service, Speed Dating, Match.com, and some newspaper personal way back in the olden days. Its tough out there, but I am a great proponent of doing whatever it takes to meet your sole mate. However, be prepared to kiss a few frogs, or have a few frogs bite you before you meet Mr. or Ms. Right. I’m sure you have some of your own dating tales, but maybe reading mine will make you feel like you aren’t alone in dealing with the weird and the strange as you navigate the dating waters.
I consider myself to be ‘Totally Normal.’ In fact that was my username at one of the many dating sites I’ve tried over the years. I’m normal, that means that I’m not a super model and I’m not a toad. I have a job and I brush my teeth twice a day. I have friends I’ve known since grade school and they still like me. I’ve kissed boys, and some have been better than others. I AM TOTALLY NORMAL!!! Normal is not chewing on someone’s face in lieu of a kiss goodnight!! I’ve only had someone try to eat my face once……….well I guess technically it is twice.
When I started chatting with this guy (we’ll call him Alex) via e-mail I thought that I might just have hit the jackpot. Alex was a doctor!! The fact that he didn’t have a car should have been a clue as to what I was getting into. I let it go though because he was in his residency, so he wasn’t rich……..YET. In hindsight there were a lot of clues, but I found reasons. I’m normal, which means I’m a little shallow, so I was pre-occupied planning how I could become a doctor’s wife. He did live in a reasonably nice apartment building and he was cute!! So what if he was a Pathologist and he asked me if I wanted to go look at dead bodies in the morgue!! That was another clue, which I ignored.
