It is weird but there was a friend of mine who was doing very well. He was well respected in his community. He had a very nice family, a gorgeous wife and three daughters, and four sons that I am sure he loved very much. Then all of a sudden, overnight it would seem, my friend lost his job, his health, his home and his wife came down with cancer. Their children who were all grown and had families of their own were watching their parents cope with serious situations and circumstances. The family became desperate but they remained cool through it all.

I remember how George would approach his driveway after putting in a hard days work at the office. He was a heck of a salesman. He could sell anything you could think of by creating a new market for it, even if no one wanted it previously. He just had that natural gift. His name was George and he was indeed a super salesman. The Mercedes that he would drive into the driveway now replaced a medium sized Toyota that he had for a couple of years. It was quite a change for George. You would have envied the world of George. He had it made.

He got his start as a salesman after the factory he worked for closed its doors and moved to another state.  At first he didn’t seem too enthusiastic about staying here. He started to move with the old company out of state. The one reason for not going was his wife. She did not want to move from this city. All of her kindred and acquaintances lived in this state and she was dead set against leaving. You know how stubborn women can be sometimes when they just don’t w ant to do what you want them to do. Boy! She really put her foot down..It was loud and clear. That was that!

It took George about three months to land the position of a Salesman but they really wanted someone who had experience.. George didn’t have it, but he was loud and boastful. At the interview George had, he told the interviewer that he would be grateful if they just give him a try that they would not be sorry. He surely kept his end of the bargain.  After two weeks on the job, George began to head for the salesman of the month prize. He made it and for the next two months he won it After that he was always a runner up or winning sales contests. For the next several years he won vacations on cruise ships, paid trips abroad. He really was a good salesman. Soon he was promoted to assistant manager and then a couple of years ago he became Manager. His children were educated in some of the best Universities and two of them finished their education in England. The whole family seemed to prosper on every level. They were more than successful. They were blessed in many ways.
