She told me to look around, but the house was beautiful, and clean; everything had its spot, but something was missing, I could see it in her eyes. What, I did not know? Until she told me what is was!
Don’t Worry About The Clutter
I look around and wonder, what is all this stuff. There are shoes in every corner, and something on all the flat surfaces; what’s all this clutter? I try to impress upon the family to put the stuff away, and I know I am just as guilty; but the living room is filling up and we can barely move. We begin with the newspaper, clearing off the coffee table, and put all the shoes away. Hey guys it took only five minutes and the living room looks a bit better. Lets continue for a short time and get this room in shape; and if all goes according to plan, each room will look just as good by the end of the week.

Unfortunately it lasted maybe two weeks I told my neighbor and best friend; everyone was excited and we all felt a bit of pride. Then just as quickly the learned to clean up, they forgot all about it. All it took was, I getting busy with work; and it appears all common sense went out the window. My neighbor so sweet and kind told me very simply, “Don’t Worry About The Clutter”! I just stood there looking at her as she said to me, look around, really just look around and what do you see? I did not understand where she was going with this, so I simply answered, a table with chairs and bouquet of flowers on the table. She told me to look closely and listen, still I was confused; I guess she felt she had to tell me, since I was apparently clueless.
She said listen, and your hear nothing, look, and you see nobody, as she looked at me with tears in her eyes. “Don’t Worry About The Clutter”; for tomorrow you will miss it. She went on to explain that as her kids grew up, and her husband was around, there was clutter everywhere. Toys in one corner, shoes in hall, and dishes in the sink, and now her kids are grown, her husband deceased, and she was all-alone.
So again she said to me, Don’t Worry About The Clutter because some day in the future you too, will miss the clutter.
