Do dreams tell us about something that is going to happen.
What does your dreams mean?

I awoke one morning all upset, I had a dream it was weird; then I realized it was not a dream but a nightmare. There I was chained in a dark damp basement; of a very old castle. As I woke up more detail started to emerge.  It was not a basement it was in a cellar, and there was nobody there but me, as I managed to look around with the aid of sunrays coming through cracks in the walls, maybe it was lights from other rooms, I could not recall too well.  I realized as I looked around  and there was nothing down here, not a box, book, shelf; it was absolutely empty. Empty except for me.

By the time I got to the kitchen to make coffee, I recall I was restricted, I was chained, my hands and ankles were chained. The thought made me feel like a criminal going to trail.

I thought about this dream often through the day, wondering what it all meant, it was kind of scary to be locked up, chained in the dark; the thought gave me the chills. As the day went on, I ran into an old friend and we decided to grab something to eat, we were both finished with our errands.

We talked about the old days, and the things we did, the trouble we got into. Then we talked about some of the not so great things, like who got divorced, but when the discussion turned to Larry, that caught my attention. I had recalled that at the age of 23 he had been diagnosed with some sort of cancer, every now an then Larry would cross my mind, but we had a big fight the summer before we all left for college, and I was sure he hated me. As Mary went on she told me how he had suffered and refused to give up; with many prayers, some sort of change in diet, and of course the routine chemotherapy and radiation he recovered. Wow that was great, he has been cancer free since and that was about 15 years ago. We spoke about a few other things then we exchanged cell phone numbers and we went our separate ways

It was then I recalled my disturbing dream; I decided that when I get home I would research my dream, which after reading my notes from the computer I was rather surprised.

I looked up chains and it meant that soon I would be free of worries and that the empty cellar represented a feeling of refreshment, less stressed and somewhat happy and ready to take on the world.

It was then that I realized that my dream some how knew that I would be set free from worrying about Larry, and it was great to hear he had completely recovered.

So now I wonder if a dream can tell me something, can I foresee through my dreams what the future holds.

Very nice article to read. I once had a beautiful dream about my granddaughter we lost, and I researched and there was a site you could send your dream to and they would explain it all to you via email. I sent mine off and got a reply within a day, And the meaning was as I had thought, but was great to know that they confirmed it for me… Wish you many more, Sweet Dreams, in the future :)

Yeah I definitely think dreams have deeper meanings that relate to our everyday lives, as a sort of premonition. The trick is to relate the dream to the actual real life event. Nice piece, very different. =)
